Matt Mackelcan: songwriter, vocals, & guitar.

With his genuine combination of American soul and upbeat rock-and-roll, Matt MacKelcan has emerged from Orlando Florida as one of the most enigmatic and engaging indie front men. He's best known for his big vocals and authentic lyrics. Matt most recently performed to very enthusiastic capacity crowds at the BMI showcase/Leaf Lounge as part of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in Park City Utah.
As his popularity continues to spread throughout the Southeast, Matt’s sophomore CD “No Turning Back” has been released to embracing audiences. The album was produced by two-time Dove Award nominee Randall Shreve. No stranger to crowds of dedicated fans, the Matt MacKelcan Band was a featured act on the main stage in front of more than 4,000 people at the 2006 Florida Music Festival, a widely celebrated event hosting the biggest up-and-coming independent acts from the Southeast. Matt has also performed in front of more than 12,000 rowdy college students at the annual Citrus Bowl football game. Matt is a regular performer at music entertainment venues in the popular bar scene up and down the east coast, from New York City to Miami. While building his reputation as the hardest working musician in Florida, Matt has received recognition by Singer Songwriter of America as the 2005 Male Vocalist of the Year. He has shared the stage with Third Eye Blind, Howie Day, Matt Nathanson, Donavon Frankenreiter, Will Hoge, Brett Dennen and The Samples to name a few. Joined by world-class bassist Chuck Archard (NAGW featured artist) and percussionist Guy Hilsman (Jason Mraz) for five tracks, the twenty-five year old MacKelcan has produced a mature and melodic album for music fans of all ages.

MacKelcan, a classically trained vocalist and Music major graduate from Rollins College (Winter Park, FL), is excited to tour full-time and focus all of his energy on his music career. He has already appeared with major label artists Howie Day (Epic), Matt Nathanson (Universal), Graham Colton Band, The Samples, Tony Lucca (WEA) and Flickerstick. Matt has already established himself a growing fanbase through his east coast tour this past March. Matt will be embarking on a nationwide college tour this fall.
